Beautiful Photographs of Parrot Flowers from Thailand
Happy Spring to Everyone!
Today is March 14, 2008 - and my windows are open here in McHenry. These photos came in my email today and I have to share them....
Aren't these the most Fantastic Flowers you have ever seen?
I just had to share these beautiful photos. I will never see a live parrot flower, as they are a protected species and will never be grown outside of their native Thailand. Many people do know know they even exist (I didn't until today), but I hope you enjoy them like I did.
Parrot flowers get my enthusiastic VOTE for the most beautiful of flowers on Earth. Truly amazing!
That said, natural patterns are a common theme all across "nature" (ah-ha). But a plant (flower) that looks exactly like a bird is truly amazing. And it clearly shows the natural relationship between the plant and animal kingdom. Mother Nature shows how science is beautiful without adding magic and miracles, but if you prefer to thank God for this wonder - whatever....
Try to ENJOY Life - "Stop and Smell the Roses" Often
Spring does bring out the poet in me. Being back outdoors today, seeing my first crocus in bloom (it's yellow) and smelling the fresh air - while I removed a broken clematis trellis - was restorative and almost spiritual.
Here in Illinois, I am truly appreciating the first signs of spring 2008!
Happy SPRING to all my fellow Gardeners!
